CONTROLS:

Move or scroll menus - Arrow keys

Shoot (when act bar is full) or choose menu options  - X key

Toggle pause UI (when act bar is full) or back out of menus - Z Key


V3 CHANGE NOTES:

  • Added left and right movement for both sides, making for eight-directional movement in the case of the player character
  • Added an offense spell, blaze bang (costs 4 MP - shock cushion has been changed to cost 6)
  • Changed the sprite for shock cushion so it's easier to notice if both it and blaze bang are active at the same time
  • Multiple small adjustments to hopefully balance the difficulty better


OTHER USEFUL TIPS/INSTRUCTIONS:

You can access the item and spell menus from the pause UI. Move into mana bubbles (the bubble-like things with star-like crystal things inside them that float up from the bottom of the screen sometimes - you'll know them when you see them) to gain MP to cast spells (there are currently two in this prototype - an offense spell and defense spell). You also have a few of a single healing item if needed.

The game automatically resets when either side wins. You'll have to click in the game window after starting it or toggling full screen for the controls to respond. If you do decide to play in full screen (which would make sense), I'd advise you pause before doing so.

This is a prototype for the game's battle system, so any feedback is greatly appreciated. I hope you'll try the full game when it's finished, whenever that may be!
